Buffalo Valley at Center Hill Dam:
Located at the Resource Managers' Office off State Route 141/96.   Visit the wildlife exhibit and a view pictorial history of the construction of the dam.  Facilities: drinking water, launching ramp & restrooms.  Allows access to the Caney Fork River and affords hikers a starting point along some scenic trails running beside the water's edge.

Directions:
From Smithville:  (scenic route) from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north (Cookeville Highway) 13 miles to the junction of State Route 141 (located on the left at I-40) and turn left on State Route 141.  Follow State Route 141 west 7.6 miles to the Resource Managers' Office and turn right.  (Faster route take I-40 west).

From I-40:  Exit 268 and follow State Route 96 south 3.6 miles to the junction of State Route 141.   Turn right on State Highway 141/96 and travel west .8  (8/10's) mile and turn right at the Resource Managers' Office. 

Center Hill:  
Located on State Route 96 (Dale Ridge Road) north at Center Hill Dam
Facilities: Drinking water, launching ramp, picnic areas & restrooms.

Directions:
From Smithville: from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow U.S. 70 west 5.6 miles to State Route 96 North (Dale Ridge Road) and turn right.  Follow State Route 96 north 10.6 miles - Center Hill Recreation Area is on the right just before Center Hill Dam and the junction of State Route 141.   

From I-40: Exit 268 and follow State Route 96 south 3.6 miles to the junction of State Route 141/96 intersection. Turn right on State Route 141/96 and travel west 1.2 miles.  After crossing Center Hill Dam Center Hill Recreation Area is on the left.

Cove Hollow:
Located on State Route 96 (Dale Ridge Road) north of U.S. 70 and south of Center Hill Dam.
Facilities: Closed.

Directions:
From Smithville: from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow U.S. 70 west 5.6 miles to State Route 96 North (Dale Ridge Road) and turn right.  Follow State Route 96 north 8.4 miles and Cove Hollow Recreation Area is on the right.   

From I-40: Exit 268 and follow State Route 96 south 3.6 miles to the junction of State Route 141/96 intersection. Turn right on State Route 141/96 and travel 1.1 miles,  to Center Hill Dam where State Route 141/96 split.  Continue straight ahead on State Route 96, traveling south 2.3 miles and the recreation area is on the left.

Floating Mill Park

Located off State Route 56, north of Smithville.
Facilities: Bath houses, camper dumping station, camping grounds, drinking water, electrical hook-ups, launching ramp, picnic areas, picnic shelter, playgrounds, private boat moorage, restrooms, swimming & water hook-ups.

Directions: 
From Smithville:  from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north  (Cookeville Highway) 9.5 miles and turn left to Floating Mill - Hurricane Marina.  (The road will be the first on the left after passing the scenic overlook.)  Follow signs to the park.

From I-40:  Exit 273 and follow State Route 56 south 3.4 miles and turn right at the Corps of Engineers sign for Floating Mill Park / Hurricane Boat Dock.  Follow signs to the park.

Happy Hollow:
Located on State Route 96 between State Route 141 and Interstate 40.
Facilities: Launching Ramp

Directions:
From Smithville:  (scenic route) from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north (Cookeville Highway) 13 miles to the junction of State Route 141 (just south of  I-40) and turn left on State Route 141.  Follow State Route 141 west  6.8 miles to the junction of State Route 96 and turn right.  Follow State Route 96 north  2.3 miles and the launching ramp is on the left at the DeKalb/Putnam County Line.  (Faster route take I-40 west).

From I-40: Exit 273 and follow State Route 96 south 1.3 miles.  The launching ramp is on the left at the
DeKalb/Putnam County Line.

Holmes Creek
Located on the Casey Cove Road off U.S. 70 west of the Smithville city limits.
Facilities: Closed - Boat Launching Facilities Open.

Directions: 
From Smithville:   from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow U.S. 70 west 3.5 miles and turn right at Bert Driver Nursery onto Hurricane Ridge Road.  Hurricane Ridge Road will become Casey Cove Road (follow the main path of the roadway - no turns).  Holmes Creek Recreation Area is located at the end of the road and is 5.3 miles from U.S. 70.

Hurricane Bridge:
Located off State Route 56 on the north end of Hurricane Bridge.
Facilities: Drinking water, launching ramp, picnic areas, picnic shelter & restrooms.

Directions:
From Smithville:  from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north (Cookeville Highway) 8 miles.  Hurricane Bridge Recreation Area is on the left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge.

From I-40: Exit 273 follow State Highway 56 south, 5 miles.  Hurricane Bridge Recreation Area is located on the right just before crossing the bridge.

Johnson Chapel:
Located off U.S. 70 east of Smithville on Johnson Chapel Road.
Facilities: Drinking water, launching ramp, picnic areas & restrooms.

Directions:
From Smithville:  from the intersection of U.S. 70 and State Route 56, follow U.S. 70 (Sparta Highway) east 8.6 miles.  Turn left on Johnson Chapel Road (marked with Corps of Engineers sign).  The recreation area is 2.5 miles at the end of the road. 

Long Branch:

From I-40: Exit 268 and follow State Route 96 south 3.6 miles to the junction of State Route 141/96.  Turn right and follow State Route 141/96 west 1.1 miles to Center Hill Dam, immediately after crossing the dam turn right on State Route 141 travel .4  (4/10's) mile.  Long Branch is located on the right at the bottom of the hill, adjacent to Center Hill Dam.
